{"id":3905,"date":"2022-03-28T05:20:07","date_gmt":"2022-03-28T05:20:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/alumniforacatholicusd.org\/?p=3905"},"modified":"2022-03-28T05:20:56","modified_gmt":"2022-03-28T05:20:56","slug":"a-letter-from-a-former-usd-professor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alumniforacatholicusd.org\/index.php\/2022\/03\/28\/a-letter-from-a-former-usd-professor\/","title":{"rendered":"A Letter From a Former USD Professor"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 id=\"PageTitle-D38\" class=\"GC17 PageTitle\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: medium;\">Dear President Lyons<\/span><\/h1>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div id=\"idOWAReplyText51475\" dir=\"ltr\">\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 While I admire the many wonderful things you have done for USD, I will never understand why you have allowed the curriculum and culture to be debased in this way.\u00a0Perhaps you have not seen the\u00a0videos of the Santa Clara University show, or the DePaul show.\u00a0\u00a0Perhaps you were not aware of what these shows are really all about.\u00a0 But, you should know by now&#8211;and must be concerned about what will likely happen onstage tonight.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\u00a0As you know I left\u00a0my job at USD\u00a0because\u00a0I could no longer support the anti-Catholic activities that you were allowing to take place.\u00a0 You not only allowed them, you encouraged them by rewarding the pro-abortion, pro-gay, and anti-Catholic staff and faculty members\u00a0with awards and promotions.\u00a0 Perhaps you were not aware.\u00a0 But, while I was there, students were encouraged to act as student interns (for class credit) at Planned Parenthood, and faculty members actively campaigned for same sex marriage.\u00a0Many of the speakers you invited to campus denigrated the faith and teachings of the Church&#8211;usually without a rebuttal from the faithful perspective.
