<\/td>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\nYesterday\u2019s Washington Examiner article, \u201cEducation culture wars come for \u2018woke\u2019 Catholic schools,\u201d extensively quotes Cardinal Newman Society President Patrick Reilly and\u00a0Bishop Thomas Daly, chairman of the U.S. Bishops\u2019 Committee on Education, about the urgency of renewing faithful Catholic education.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Bishop Daly laments that many Catholic schools and colleges \u201chave, quite frankly, gone \u2018woke\u2019\u201d and \u201care unfaithful to Christ\u2019s mission that He\u2019s entrusted to the Church.\u201d These Catholic schools have created a sort of “parallel church,” and they \u201chave morphed into a kind of nice private school with some Christian trappings.\u201d He adds, \u201c\u2026they need to be called out because they\u2019re no longer really Catholic schools.\u201d<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

For nearly three decades, The Cardinal Newman Society has worked to promote faithful Catholic education and defend against false ideologies and threats to educators\u2019 religious freedom.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cThe Cardinal Newman Society has been very concerned about the infiltration of\u00a0critical race theory, gender identity, and cancel culture<\/a>\u00a0in Catholic schools,” Reilly told the Examiner. The Society\u2019s magazine,\u00a0Our Catholic Mission<\/em>, equips Catholic bishops, diocesan superintendents, and school and college leaders with resources and tools to uphold the all-important mission of a faithful Catholic education.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This effort is urgently needed today. \u201cCatholic schools, now more than ever, are especially needed because there\u2019s so much confusion, and so much dishonesty lies in the culture,\u201d Daly added. \u201cWe need our Catholic schools, but they have to be Catholic schools that are faithful.\u201d<\/p>\n
